Where new visions are created for your home
Some of the more common questions we are asked about our Home Staging and Interior Redesign services are included below.
Professionally staged homes have a competitive edge--they sell faster and typically for more money than non-staged homes. They look better than others on the market and are viewed by buyers as "well maintained". Staged homes are "move-in ready".
Maybe or maybe not. If you have tried ideas from the Internet or TV to stage your house and yet after a few months or more it is still on the market, it may be time to enlist the help of a professional. It is often difficult for a homeowner to separate his emotional attachment to his home from the objective view of the house as a commodity. A fresh eye and the expertise of Take II can save you time and the headaches of trying to figure out the best ways to showcase your home.
Look for a stager who has attended a "hands on" training program taught in small classes by experienced trainers. We at Take II attended the Midwest Staging Redesign Institute, an Interior Redesign and Staging Industry Specialists (IRIS) approved program. IRIS was established in 1999 and is known for setting the industry standards for the training of home stagers and redesigners. IRIS has certified us in both staging and redesign.
Yes! Only about 10% of homebuyers can actually visualize the potential of a home when it is empty. It is difficult to envision the scale of rooms, how furniture will fit, and imagine entertaining and day-to-day activities with family and friends in empty spaces. If you choose to leave your home empty while it is on the market, insure that it is spotless and looks perfect. Too often empty houses can look neglected. Dust, cobwebs and minor flaws like carpet stains or paint scuffs become the focal points instead of the beauty of the rooms.
Take II offers different levels of service to fit your budget and needs. We can create a complete plan of action with a "top 10" to do list for a minimal charge. You can use the plan to do the work yourself. Or you can hire Take II to do part or all of your staging needs. Our professional services are substantially less than a price reduction and the cost of staging most likely will be recovered in the selling price of your home.
Absolutely! Realtors are experts in helping you sell your home and provide a multitude of services to market your home. We love to partner with realtors for a team approach to sell your home.
There are numerous statistics supporting the benefit of staging a property before putting it on the market. Studies have shown that even houses that were on the market, unstaged have a better chance of selling more quickly once they are staged. The Real Estate Staging Association's(RESA) most recent statistics published this year are on their website. Click here for a link.
We believe that professional staging is a necessary part of the success of selling a home quickly and for a good price. However, staging is not the only element that influences a successful sale. Proper listing price, location, condition of the property, and the market conditions in your area are the most important factors that influence the timely sale of a house.
Not really. Redesign is a unique and economical way to resolve decorating dilemmas or simply give a fresh new look for any room in your home using what you already have.
It will! This is our specialty...reusing, re-purposing and finding new life for all those things you already have.
No. If we find something we think will be great for your redesign, we will replace it with something you have that will work as well or better (and look great) in that spot.
Generally a redesign takes one day or less.
No. That is the beauty of redesign! But if you are considering some new things for your redesigned room, we can help you with that. Visit our design trade partners' websites (click here for links) and see a wonderful selection of accessories, artwork, furniture, lighting and paint. We also quite often shop locally for great buys when our clients want new items for their rooms. We encourage you to shop for anything you might like us to incorporate into your redesign; or for a minimal charge we can do the shopping for you.
No. We love the challenge of redesigning any room in your home. Kitchens, laundry rooms, bedrooms and foyers are just a few other spaces that can benefit from redesign.
No. Go to work or enjoy a day out and pamper yourself. Part of the fun of redesign is the element of surprise and the impact of seeing your one-day room makeover when it is all done. We will call you when we are done and lock up, too. However, if you feel more comfortable being home, that's okay, too.
Absolutely not. Our redesign services are perfect for people who have busy schedules and don't take the time or have the time to make changes themselves. Think of it like a beauty salon. Many people can cut, color and style their hair themselves. But what a treat it is to relax at the salon and let a professional do the magic. It is the same with redesign. We can give you a great new look for your room...you can relax and enjoy!
Some of our clients express concern that their rooms should be "company ready" before we come. Rest assured that should not be the case. Our concern is with the outcome: function, style and comfort that satisfies our clients' needs and wants. You will be judging our work, never the other way around!
